The Red Hat EMEA Deal Desk team is looking for a Deal Desk Specialist to join us in Puteaux, France. In this role, you will collaborate with the Sales, Services, Operations, and Finance teams, as well as other stakeholders, to facilitate non-standard and complex deals. You'll provide assistance to various stakeholders to structure and document complex deals, and ensure deal practices are documented, optimized, communicated, adhered to, and in support of global operational and sales objectives, while aligning with corporate policies, programs, and systems. As a Deal Desk Specialist, you'll also provide a support center for the Sales team, covering business practices and guidelines, support for requests for proposal (RFP) and requests for information (RFI), and complex vendor registrations.
Primary job responsibilities
Establish trusted working relationships with Red Hat teams that contribute to the structure of or may be impacted by the non-standard or complex deal, specifically Sales and Commercial Legal Group, Finance, Sales Operations, Product Management, Product Marketing, Global Professional Services, and Global Support Services teams
Enforce the corporate approval framework and associated policies
Manage and troubleshoot the escalation process
Promote competency to negotiate and close deals that align with established guidelines
Provide a support center for Sales covering business practices and guidelines, RFP, and RFI support, and complex vendor registrations
Review, research, and complete customer requests for assignment
Promote and support the use of Salesforce.com as the primary system for contract review requests and price approval requests; document final contract summaries and price justifications for senior management
Ensure that deal practices are documented, optimized, communicated, adhered to, and in support of global operational and sales objectives
Be a centre of support to enable sales and facilitate efficient deal throughput
Attend account planning sessions with sales to provide early advice and support in structuring the best deals and advise on the options available
5+ years of experience working in a rapidly changing, deadline-based position involving daily interaction with multiple levels of management and peers; experience of Deal Desk and commercial deal negotiations is an advantage
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; solid organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate across all levels of management
Proven skills in negotiation, analysis, logic, problem-solving, crisis management, and leadership
Familiarity with sales operations, order processing, fulfilment, revenue recognition, legal contracts, purchase orders, and license agreements
Comfortable handling multiple urgent tasks, projects, and relationships under pressure
Ability to work quickly and thoroughly under changing conditions and timelines
Excellent presentation skills
Detailed-oriented and motivated; outstanding diplomatic skills
Fluent English and French language skills; advanced knowledge of Italian, Spanish or German language is a plus
Bachelor's degree is an advantage
Experience with Salesforce.com and Oracle is a plus
